Dr. Claudio Sandoval
My name is Claudio Sandoval and I am a board certified Pediatric
Hematologist/Oncologist. I graduated from New York Medical College in 1987 and completed
competitive pediatric residency at Schneider Children's Hospital. My subspecialty training
was completed at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
During my tenure at St. Jude, I studied treatment-related leukemias and the G-CSF receptor in
patients with congenital agranulocytosis. Currently I am an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics
at New York Medical College. Our group cares for a wide variety of pediatric hematology and
oncology problems. Our services include direct in-patient care, bone marrow and peripheral
blood stem cell transplantation, a wonderful outpatient chemotherapy infusion center and
going to community hospitals to provide expert subspecialty care.
We participate in the Children's Cancer group and participate in cutting-edge cancer
therapies. We have a keen interest and expertise in monitoring minimal residual disease in
pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Moreover, we are collaborating with scientists at
New York Medical College studying tumor suppressor genes in neuroblastoma, a common solid
tumor in children.
